Hi there! My name is Tessa and I’m a student at Central Michigan University where I am SO EXCITED to be earning a degree in recreation and event management with minors in child development and leadership! Before coming to CMU, I graduated from Harper Creek High School in Battle Creek, Michigan (fire up for cereal, am I right??). I have worked in the past few summers as a summer camp counselor at Battle Creek Parks and Recreation Kidventure Camp, and am super excited to soon begin a new chapter in a lead role at Indian Trails Camp; a summer camp that offers an exciting camp experience for people with disabilities! I am apart of the Leadership Institute as a Leader Advancement Scholar and I am an intern in the Special Olympics Michigan state office. You can usually find me drinking Starbucks with an excessive number of espresso shots, on a run, or probably laughing way too hard at my own jokes.
You will find yourself in some very unlucky situations if you spend some time with me, but I am a firm believer in making the best out of every situation. Being able to laugh at yourself is the biggest gift, because you will always have a reason to smile. I am so incredibly thankful for the experiences I have had and the people that I have had the opportunity to learn and grow with!
